In January 2016, Jo Malone London launched a new fragrance that will be part of the Cologne Intense collection. The novelty will appeal to fans of the brand with its powdery-milky composition, characterized by bright notes of orris root and sandalwood.

Jo Malone Orris & Sandalwood balances floral and woody notes in harmony with the woody-powdery scent of orris root.

The top accord blooms with violet, followed by orris in the heart. Creamy sandalwood is very bright in the base.

Orris & Sandalwood is a vibrant composition with a powdery trail.

"We wanted to create a fragrance with orris, as it is one of the most coveted ingredients among perfumers. For centuries, iris has been cultivated by monks, and even today, to obtain this ingredient, the orris root is dried for three years to obtain a unique fragrance characterized by two shades: woody "floral and brightly powdery," says perfumer Pierre Negren, who created the new Jo Malone fragrance.
